The Berrics is the brainchild of Steve Berra and Eric Koston who put together an amazing skatepark in which their friends and invitees get to skate. The guys were gracious enough to let us hold the first of a handful of Active Skate Nights at the Berrics. This video shows you a little bit of the rip-a-dee-doo-dah that went down on the street course of destiny. Some special guests making cameos in the video are Billy Marks, Erik Ellington and Steve Berra. Terell Robinson was also in the house but the camera man was already in the editing room when Mr. Robinson showed up! Check out the Active rippers and special guests…

Active is running a commercial on Fuel TV right now featuring Andrew Reynolds. The commercial is built around the recent Active advertisements that ran in Transworld Skateboarding and The Skateboard Mag, and uses music from Andrew’s band The Goat. Make sure you visit Active El Segundo and Downtown San Diego when they are open and you get a chance!

Here’s a teaser for the new Paul Rodriguez video entitled “Proof” by Nigel Alexander and P-Rod.

This originally was supposed to be A Day In The Life With Braydon. It works alot better as a day with some of his friends. We left his house around noon, picked up Lizard King and Dom from Brooklyn Projects, and went to a shop that the dude from Good Charlotte co-owns. You can see him in the video when we go into the shop at the beginning of the video. They built a mini pool in the back of the shop that is super hard to skate. Lizard and Braydon skated for a little bit and then we headed to the Baker House to meet up with Beagle, Bryan Herman, Theotis Beasley, Reno, and Jigga. We went to downtown for Braydon to get a trick, but unfortunately we got kicked out after about 30 mins, which is pretty good for a Thursday. We ended up skating in downtown almost all day, Lizard tried to get a trick, but the meter ran out on the street, so we had to go back to the van. Then we went to Fairfax High, but it was knobbed, so we headed home, back to Hollywood. I hope everyone likes the video, and that it comes across as a fun day of messing around with Braydon and some homies.

Scott Mackey on Gantry HillI handpicked Gantry Hill to represent Active Valencia because he is the greatest. Smooth style on and off that skateboard. Sick folding skills like you wouldn’t believe. Gantry is a true skateboarder. On his lunch break you can catch him skating in the parking lot or killing the pacman record. (more…)

Remember back in July when we asked who wanted to be in Ellington's next ad? Well, check it out…

It was rad watching this ad come together. We were supposed to shoot it at Hollywood High, but their security kicked us out before we even went in the school. Atiba, Erik, Chad the art director for Active, and Shane decided to move it to Hollywood Blvd, and have all the kids walk behind Erik while he skates down the street, or while he's walking holding his board.

So we all mobbed over to Hollywood Blvd. with about 25 kids. The “normal” people had no idea what was going on, the tourists were taking pictures and filming us. The rest is history, so check the video, and you should be seeing the ad any day now if you haven't already. The same photo was also used in the Active Pre-Holiday 2007 Catalog online now.

We knew that Goofy Vs. Regular would be covered in probably a hundred different ways this year. So, we decided to change it up a bit. I filmed only the active riders. Andrew Reynolds, Billy Marks, David Loy, and Terrell Robinson. I noticed how laid back Drew was as he was warming up. He was cruising around doing stylish warm up tricks. I thought I’d make the video mostly about that, and how he progressed from beginning to end of the contest. Hope the video compares to how epic it was in person.Video by Daniel Haney

I actually shot Erik’s house before Andrews, but thought Erik’s needed more work. Erik and I spoke back and forth about ideas, it was his idea for the intro where I’m driving down to the house, we refilmed it in the rain, and he was hanging outside the window filming it as I was driving, I thought the first one was better so thats the one I used, you’ll notice its sunny down the driveway, and then its a rainy day. Most of the skating was filmed on a different sunny day. Kind of funny how it all came together into one video.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting Erik, you have no idea how nice this guy is. He is one of the nicest pros, and most down to earth people I have met in skateboarding. I’ve always liked his style, and had met him about 8 years ago in Jamie Thomas’ garage when I lived by him. Its pretty rad watching Erik become a businessman, and be so involved with his sponsors and being very successful at it.

Watching Erik be a father and husband, is pretty inspiring, and makes me want to have a family to provide for one day. Erik let me into his house numerous times to film for this, we skated his quarter pipe, and now I’m filming him remodel his attic. Its pretty crazy to watch Erik Ellington do drywall. Anyway, hope everybody likes this. Sorry it took so long to come out.
