Plan B Demo Photos

by Erica Yary - May 19th, 2008

The Plan B Demo went off like a bomb. The demo was so massive and there were so many people there that it got shut down a couple hours early. People came from far and wide to see Paul Rodriguez, Ryan Sheckler, Jereme Rogers, Danny Way, Colin McKay, and PJ Ladd skate the street course in the 100+ degree weather. The skateboarding was amazing for the time it lasted, we will have a video up later this week. The Plan B team attempted to sign for the crowd, but it was too crazy for everyone to get an autograph and people were swarming P Rod, Sheckler and the rest of the crew. The guys stuck around and signed for a while while they still could, but the demo had to get shut down due to it’s magnitude. Fuel TV was there covering the event for The Weekly Update as well as for The Daily Habit. The shows should be airing soon and we will let you know when you can check them out.

Thanks to the entire Plan B Team, Sean Hayes, everyone from Active who worked and helped out inside and outside of the store and helped to make this demo a huge success.

RVCA Demo & Signing Photos

by Erica Yary - April 29th, 2008

The RVCA Team came out in all their glory to Active Escondido, this past Sunday April 27th, for a hundred-degree demo. Aside from the heat, the guys skated it up (uphill) and did their best without getting heatstroke midway through the demo. Leo Romero killed it as usual. If you have the chance to check out any demos that Leo is skating in you should make sure to attend, he is great. Josh Harmony, Ethan Fowler, Raymond Molinar, and Kevin Long were also in attendance skating for the crowd. This was Kevin’s first demo in over a year and Active was happy we got to have his comeback performance, he too killed it. Austin Stephens also showed up to the demo but he couldn’t skate due to a hurt foot, but he did sign it up for everyone. For now check out the photos. We will have a video from the demo posted later this week.

Check out RVCA’s photos from the event. Look out for coverage of the demo on FUEL tv soon as well! Thanks to Jimmy for being the best dude ever.

by Erica Yary - April 23rd, 2008

Elwood and Active teamed up to bring our one of the best skateboarding teams in the world and some great promotions to Southern California for Earth Day, April 22nd. The entire Elwood Team including Dan Drehobl, Kenny Anderson, Anthony Pappalardo, Vincent Alvarez, Marquis Henry, and Silas Baxter Neal were all in the house.

The day was long and successful. It started out with meeting up at Kenny Anderson’s house where the team skated Kenny’s pool. From Kenny’s the posse took the WVO powered Mercedes and two Toyota Prius’ to Channel Street Skatepark in San Pedro. From the skatepark the Elwood team and crew headed over to Long Beach Active for a signing and a check in to see how the promotions were going. If you brought in an old pair of jeans, you’d get a discount on a new pair of Elwoods. If you brought in an old pair of Elwood jeans, you’d get a NEW pair of Elwood jeans, free of cost. Elwood also brought out a ton of stuff for give-a-ways and hooked up a ton of people who came out for Earth Day celebrations.

Enjoi Signing Photos!

by Erica Yary - February 18th, 2008

Cairo Foster couldn’t end up making it out, but Louie Barletta, Jerry Hsu, and Caswell Berry all flew in from their home front, San Jose, to be at the El Segundo Active Signing.

The guys signed a ton of autographs on all sorts of different objects people brought in. We held an Enjoi art contest for a hooked up Enjoi package, which included some special treats that only Enjoi would include. We also had a Game of Skate for an Active Package outside of the store.

There were winners, losers, and there were phallic drawings courteousy of Mr. Barletta, an artist amongst commoners. The South Central skate crew was in full effect and the Enjoi guys conquered and returned home to San Jose within hours, well played.

Thanks to Paul Sharpe, the Enjoi Team, DWINDLE, Corey, Maggi, and the Active El Segundo crew for helping make this happen.
