Fontana Hot Dogs & Hessians Photos

by Erica Yary - June 30th, 2008

The Grand Finale was almost cut short when we showed up to Fontana Skatepark and realized that taking the proper precautions, by getting a permit to hold an event, means that cops decide to poach on the event. The skatepark had at least 2 or more cops present at all times which means that there was no skateboarding without helmets. Luckily an Active employee brought 15 helments from our headquarters and saved the day. We let the guys who wanted to throw down have a helmet so that the show could go on! Neurotoxin was once again rocking out and the crowd was not let down by the hot dogs, rock and roll, and free stuff! Thanks to Alphanumeric for showing up, all of this years sponsors and everyone who stuck around at Fontana for the event. See you next year!

GSD with AWS, DC & Active Photos!

by Erica Yary - June 23rd, 2008

For the third consecutive year, Active, DC and Alien Workshop have joined forces to bring the biggest go Skateboarding Day event we could get together to the DC Skate Plaza in Kettering, Ohio. Alien Workshop and DC Shoes Riders; Josh Kalis, Rob Dyrdek, Dylan Rieder, Ryan Smith, Lindsey Robertson and Evan Smith were all on the front lines. The guys skated with the couple thousand locals that came out and signed autographs as well as snapped a bunch of photos all day long. The line to get an autograph from Rob Dyrdek, Dylan Rider and Josh Kalis was about a mile long and after 3 hours of signing the guys had to cut it off. We held four best trick contests and a huge product toss once the contests were over. One local in particular came to the event and dominated just about every best trick contest we held, Nick the Brick. Thanks to everyone who came out to the event and everyone at DC, AWS and everyone celebrated skateboarding and Go Skateboarding Day with us!

Plan B Demo Photos

by Erica Yary - May 19th, 2008

The Plan B Demo went off like a bomb. The demo was so massive and there were so many people there that it got shut down a couple hours early. People came from far and wide to see Paul Rodriguez, Ryan Sheckler, Jereme Rogers, Danny Way, Colin McKay, and PJ Ladd skate the street course in the 100+ degree weather. The skateboarding was amazing for the time it lasted, we will have a video up later this week. The Plan B team attempted to sign for the crowd, but it was too crazy for everyone to get an autograph and people were swarming P Rod, Sheckler and the rest of the crew. The guys stuck around and signed for a while while they still could, but the demo had to get shut down due to it’s magnitude. Fuel TV was there covering the event for The Weekly Update as well as for The Daily Habit. The shows should be airing soon and we will let you know when you can check them out.

Thanks to the entire Plan B Team, Sean Hayes, everyone from Active who worked and helped out inside and outside of the store and helped to make this demo a huge success.

RVCA Demo & Signing Photos

by Erica Yary - April 29th, 2008

The RVCA Team came out in all their glory to Active Escondido, this past Sunday April 27th, for a hundred-degree demo. Aside from the heat, the guys skated it up (uphill) and did their best without getting heatstroke midway through the demo. Leo Romero killed it as usual. If you have the chance to check out any demos that Leo is skating in you should make sure to attend, he is great. Josh Harmony, Ethan Fowler, Raymond Molinar, and Kevin Long were also in attendance skating for the crowd. This was Kevin’s first demo in over a year and Active was happy we got to have his comeback performance, he too killed it. Austin Stephens also showed up to the demo but he couldn’t skate due to a hurt foot, but he did sign it up for everyone. For now check out the photos. We will have a video from the demo posted later this week.

Check out RVCA’s photos from the event. Look out for coverage of the demo on FUEL tv soon as well! Thanks to Jimmy for being the best dude ever.
