Ray Barbee! One of the nicest guys I know! The same guy who almost single handedly help the skate scene transition from neon crap/spandex to wearing jeans and ball caps! At least in my little scene. At the time the runs Ray was doing and all the no complys was out of this world. I’ve attached a little You Tube video of his 1989 part in Powell’s “Ban This”. East Los Angeles Belvedere Skate Park will be invaded by Active to host “Power Hour”. A winner take all, skate the whole darn park til’ your shorts fall off kind of contest. Active riders and staff will start the clock and watch out for an obvious, all round ripper. Skaters will only have 60 seconds to prove they are the dominant force. The winner will walk away with a box of goods from Active and bragging rights. That is until the next “Power Hour” rolls through and a new champ is crowned!!
